Live performance of The Story of Gomer, written and portrayed by Geri Campbell of Back to His Heart Ministries. Like an artist painting a picture, the show comes into focus scene by scene, and by the middle of the production, the audience is completely drawn in. So much so, that by the time Gomer is being sold on the auction block, by the power of the Holy Spirit, it is not Geri, not Gomer, but YOU who stands there, in need of redemption.

The Story of Gomer has been performed across the nation, reaching thousands of people with the message of God’s faithfulness and love. Adapted from the book of Hosea in the Bible, we journey with Gomer, a harlot lost in her sin until Hosea, a prophet of God, offers to marry her and redeem her life from darkness. Will she be faithful? Can she love him? Or will the pull of her old life be more than she can bear?

Join Geri Campbell as she takes us on a journey, not only through the ugliness of sin, but through the joy of freedom and newness that only faith in God and in His Word can bring. weaving Gomer’s story with her own, we are sure of this, there is always a way back home.

Get Ready

DSC_6346We have an exciting new program called “Get Ready, Get Set…Go!” Based on Galatians 5:25, it features powerful monologues, humorous skits, and inspirational songs designed to both encourage and challenge God’s people to get in-step with the Holy Spirit. Interspersed with personal testimony from both Rich and Geri Campbell, this program’s purpose is to help others to take the first step, or the next step toward the call of God in their lives.

Get Ready, Get Set…Go! is able to adapt to fit into a 20-minute time slot for a worship service, or span a three-day seminar, camp, or series of meetings. It is most effective when coupled with our powerful production of “Completely Loved and Love Completed, The Story of Gomer” as an example of what God can do through lives that are completely yielded to Him.

The Race

Safe Christianity

Skip has a boat that looks great, and has all the latest in Technology, but he never actually sails.  This skit is a humorous look at those who are sincere Christians but afraid to get out of their comfort zones.

God’s Dream

An entertaining skit with a hard hitting message about trying to fit God’s will for your life into the small space that you have created.

Philip’s Basket

A powerful monologue from the perspective of Jesus’ disciple Philip on the day that Jesus feeds the five thousand.  Although Philip had walked with the Lord, witnessed numerous miralces, and even healed people in Jesus’ name, when Jesus asks him to distribute the small pieces of bread and fish, Philip struggles with having enough faith to take the first step toward the hungry crowd.

Elizabeth, A Time for Truth

Scripture leaps to life as Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, tells of her amazing and wonderful experience as she prepared not only for the arrival of her own child, but also for the long awaited Messiah.

Approximately 25 minutes in length, this powerful and moving script is straight out of the pages of the book of Luke, chapter 1. It focuses on the truth of scripture and the truth of the prophesies concerning Jesus the Messiah.

“Elizabeth, A Time for Truth”, was written and performed by Geri Campbell, and debuted at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY as part of Bethlehem’s Blessings 2009 and ran for 21 performances.  Since then, it has blessed thousands of people over the years and continues to be a Christmas favorite.

The Story of Gomer

A beautiful love story adapted from the Book of Hosea, “Gomer” is a heartwarming and powerful one act, one person play, approximately an hour in length, with minimal sets. Using a highly creative original script, it features a thoughtful and Christ centered multimedia presentation at the close of the production.

The Old Testament book of Hosea is a picture of God’s redeeming love for his people. The Lord speaks to the prophet Hosea and tells him to marry a prostitute named Gomer, knowing that she will wound his heart by being unfaithful to him. After several years of marriage, Gomer leaves her husband and children and returns to her life of sin. God then instructs Hosea to go and find her and bring her home. After searching for Gomer, Hosea finds his wife being sold in a slave auction, and although she is dirty and broken by sin, Hosea purchases her back with his own money and takes her into his home again.

The script of Gomer is specifically written so that we are able to allow the Lord to speak to us on two levels.  Not only are we viewing a true story taken from the Word of God about Gomer and Hosea, but also, we are able to imagine ourselves in place of Gomer, and see Jesus in the place of Hosea.

For the story of Gomer is our story.  The Bible says, “We all like sheep have gone astray” Isaiah 53:6a. Because of the slavery of sin, we each have stood on our auction block.  Thank God for a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who searched for us, and bought us back by His own precious blood.  I Corinthians 6:20 says, “You are bought with a price”, and that price is Jesus own life, given willingly on the cross for our sins.

The purpose of this drama is that mankind will know and understand the incredible and unrelenting love that the Lord God has for His people.  For those who have yet to know Him, and for those who have fallen away, the story of Gomer will bring the message of love and redemption to an intensely personal level.

“I cannot even begin to express how very powerful Geri’s ministry is. We had her come to do The Story of Gomer for our annual District Women’s Conference the presence of God was thick and by the end of the production ladies were weeping at the altars as they surrendered their lives to God. The story in and of itself is very powerful but combined with Geri’s acting abilities and creativity to get the story across in a solo act I was totally blown away. I highly recommend her ministry your ladies will be VERY blessed.”

Dear Church Leader,

As the Preaching Minister and an Elder of a growing church in the Nashville, Tennessee area, I understand how difficult it is for church leaders to make a decision to invite someone they do not personally know into their church to do a program. We have the awesome responsibility of keeping watch over God’s flock; to protect, instruct, and care for them.

Knowing Rich and Geri Campbell personally as their Pastor, I am happy to recommend “In-Step Ministries” to you and your church. With a true servant’s heart, Rich and Geri will bring a drama program to your people that will truly bless and inspire, with a style that crosses all denominational, racial, economic and social boundaries.

Please consider having Rich and Geri Campbell come to your church to present a program for you. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to contact me by phone at 615-367-0817 or by email at

May God Bless You in Your Ministry,
Randy Cordell

“Recently, Geri Campbell portrayed the character of Gomer from the book of Hosea for a Sunday evening service at Christ Church. Her portrayal was compelling, fascinating and superb. She brought to life in a powerful way the message of God’s unbelievable mercy and forgiveness, which is what the story of Gomer is all about. I have no hesitancy to give my highest recommendation to Geri and her portrayal of this story.”
L.H. Hardwick, Jr., Senior Pastor,

Christ Church, Nashville, TN

“I am glad to take this opportunity to lend my full support to Rich and Geri Campbell and their “In-Step Ministries”. I have personally seen their outstanding play “Gomer” three times! Each time I have come away seeing a fresh new insight into how much more God loves us! I believe this drama would be excellent not only for churches, but also for military bases, Christian camps, prison ministries, etc.
Take the time to check this out! See afresh His wonderful love!

Chaplain, LTC Charles “Larry” Stiles, (AFRC Ret) and Senior Minister,

Erlanger Church of Christ, Erlanger, KY

“Having known Geri Campbell for a number of years, I have been aware of her acting abilities, however, not until I read her “Gomer” manuscript did I know that she has excellent writing qualities as well. Upon reading this sensitive and dramatic story, laughing one moment and crying the next, I knew immediately that the ladies of our congregation must experience this powerful message of God’s unconditional love. We featured Geri’s presentation of “Gomer” at our Ladies Fall Retreat in October and the hush that followed the conclusion gave testimony to it’s profound impact upon us all. Ladies reported that sometime during this anointed hour, they were able to embrace what they had struggled to accept for years, God’s love for them personally. One can express most effectively what one has experienced personally. It is quite evident that Geri Campbell has met God intimately and experienced the healing and restoration of His redeeming love. I admire and respect Geri as a woman of God, called and anointed to present the gospel of Jesus Christ through her extraordinary talents and abilities, and I most appreciate the Lord sending her our way!”
Rev. Carol Bryant, Director,

“Geri Campbell’s portrayal of Gomer, based on the Book of Hosea, was outstanding! I found myself laughing and crying, and saying to myself, ‘What an amazing God – to love us so much!’ The story may have been written hundreds of years ago, but the message is as current as today’s news: GOD LOVES YOU! With deep passion and conviction, Geri brings to life this story of God’s faithfulness to those who fall.”
